A.M Pacific makes sexy, intense music with a bit more of a rock edge than you'll expect from an electronica band. Their new record, "11:11", sounds best at the end of your day, when the lights are low and you are ready to take flight. They have performed great shows in the Los Angeles area, in venues such as The Roxy, Hotel Cafe, Little Pedro's, Tangiers, The Derby, The Mint and many others. Their music sounds like Massive Attack meets Blondie/Bjork with harder guitars and heavier grooves.
A.M. Pacific has been together since 2005.
They formed when singer Lisa Donnelly answered guitarist/songwriter Leo Canneto's Craigslist ad looking for a singer willing to try blending influences as varied as Dead Can Dance and Massive Attack. Shortly after they added bassist John Armstrong to their line up, rounding off their sound with programmed drums and loops as well as layered keyboard sounds, forging their unique sound in the process.
A.M Pacific makes sexy, intense music with a bit more of a rock edge than you'll expect from an electronica band. their hypnotic sound brings together a darkly sensual and cinematic fusion of hip-hop and rock rhythms, soulful melodies, layered guitars, dub grooves, and choice samples.
Their first release 11:11 (released on their own Materialdsign label) is available everywhere.
They have a loyal local following and have played extensively in the Los Angeles area (Hotel Café, Tangiers, Little Pedro s, The Mint, The Roxy and The Henry Fonda Theater).
Their record release party at The Roxy on Sunset was a packed affair and introduced a new live line up that included a drummer, a violin player and a second guitarist.
They have also performed two Sold Out nights at The Henry Fonda Theatre as part of the 10th Annual Labyrinth Masquerade event.
A video was released for their single track 11:11 and can be viewed online at their myspace account as well as many other video web channels (youtube, joost, etc...)
